We do design and branding for music and action-sports.
Our clients include Capitol, Etnies, StreetMachine, Sony Music, Espionnage, Trace, etc.
How would you characterize your design style?
Simple and efficient.
I try to imagine the best possible solution for the client's needs within their parameters. Graphic design in not about doing just what you want. If that's the case, do fine art!
Place of work
Paris, France.
Can you give us a short description about your font?
Hiploe is a mix of the Banco typeface (Roger Excoffon, 1953) and block-letter graffiti.
I've always been interested in the relationship between commercial art, typography (signs, advertising etc.) and graffiti. The influences are clear: 3D, metallic effects, arrows etc.
What is the ideal usage of your font?
I think it would look good painted really big, like on the side of a building.
Where does the name come from?
Hiploe is an anagram of the name of the singer who refused it for her logo!
Do you think that too many fonts exist?
No.
